Bio: Dr. Dian Tjondronegoro is a Senior Lecturer at the School of IT, Faculty of Science and Technology, Queensland University of Technology, currently teaching and researching in the area of Emerging Technologies. His research interest is in the area of multimedia analysis, indexing, retrieval, and multi-platform content delivery. He has published 30+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, including JASIST, ACM TOMCCAP and IEEE Multimedia. His research projects have been supported by $530K external and $12K internal grants. Dr. Tjondronegoro is currently the principal supervisor of 5 higher degree research students. His teaching has been recently awarded by Excellence in Teaching Award - Individual, Faculty of IT, 2008. His impact in project supervision has been recognized by two awards in best projects (voted by students) for ITB010 - Capstone IT Project in 2007 and 2008 consecutively. Dr. Tjondronegoro has obtained Bachelor of IT with first class honours in 2002, PhD in 2005, and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education in 2006. He was a tutor, associate lecturer, and lecturer at Faculty of IT, QUT in 2002-2006.
