CALL FOR PAPERS

SPECIAL SESSION ON EVOLUTION OF WEB IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENVIRONMENT (EWebAI)
in conjunction with

The tenth International Conference on Knowledge-Based Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems (KES06)
University of Bournemouth, United Kingdom

October 9-11, 2006

Purpose

The World Wide Web has become a ubiquitous tool for finding and sharing information, and conducting business, learning and entertainment.
The use of artificial intelligence techniques has helped the Web to transform from a static data and information repository
into an interactive, dynamic, transparent and secure knowledge and service network.
In order to fully exploit its huge potential as a global information repository, we need to enhance available web tools
with artificial intelligence techniques to locate, integrate and discover interesting patterns from the vast amount of Web data.
The artificial intelligence techniques are needed to enable the Web tools to flexibly index, mine and search
vast amounts of semi- or even unstructured and hierarchical web data without the direct need for human intervention.
The artificial intelligence methods and tools enable the Web to flexibly extracting and maintaining ontology based description metadata formats and Semantic Web.

Recognising the increasing interest in evolution of web in artificial intelligence environment,
this special session aims to provide a stimulating forum for researchers to discuss
innovations, applications and issues in the domain of intelligent technologies for the Web.

Topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

·           Soft computing techniques (fuzzy sets, rough sets, neural nets, genetic algorithms, etc) for Web data extraction and representation

·           Evolution of the Web's structure and content with artificial intelligence

·           Web Usage, Content and Structure Mining

·           Intelligently searching and navigating the Web

·           Personalized access to the Web

·           Use of artificial intelligence in handling events and change on the Web

·           Web-based decision support systems

·           Intelligent human-web interaction

·           XML data mining and querying

·           Ontology generation, learning and reasoning

·           Semantic Web

Instructions for Authors

Papers are invited from prospective authors with interests in the indicated session topics and related areas. All contributions should be original and not published elsewhere or submitted for publication during the review period. Papers must correspond to the requirements detailed in the Paper Submission section on the Conference Web Site,

http://kes2006.kesinternational.org/submission.php

Please note that the required paper length is eight pages in Springer format. Papers very much longer or shorter than the required length may be rejected.

All papers will be strictly reviewed by at least two experts in the field.

To ensure high quality, all papers must be submitted using the PROSE online system for invited sessions, and will be thoroughly reviewed by the WebAI session Programme Committee. The KES2006 Invited Sessions PROSE portal is available at http://kes2006is.prosemanager.com/login.asp Note that there is a different portal for General Track Sessions available at http://kes2006gen.prosemanager.com. Please make sure that you submit papers to the correct portal.

When you will submit your paper, you will be presented with a drop-down box which has the Invited Sessions listed. You must select the WebAI Session.

Publication

The session papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in Lecture Notes in AI as part of the LNCS/LNAI series.

There will be an opportunity to publish the extended versions of selected papers elsewhere (approval pending).
