YAWL Project
Based on a rigorous analysis of existing workflow management systems and workflow
languages, we have developed a new workflow language: YAWL (Yet Another Workflow
Language).
JDecouple
finding some simple truths about coupling in distributed systems.
It is supported by the Babel project and has strong relevance to the
YAWL project.
BABEL Project
Supported by an ARC Discovery Grant, the Babel Project is aimed at supporting interprocess communication, and tranformations.
YAWL is expected to play a vital role in this.

Short Bio
Lachlan began his professional career as an Architectural Drafter beginning in 1992.
He continued to do this until he began to find an aptitude and interest in designing
the built environment through the use of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
As time went by he continued learning more about IT until in 1996 he was made the IT
manager for the Brisbane Chapter of the Belt Collins design group. This led to his
appointment as IT manager for Stephen Pate Landscape Architects in 1998.
In 2001 Lachlan was conferred with a Masters of Information Technology and began working
on several research projects based around e-trading and Workflow BPM. The YAWL project
is definitely the most well known one, and Lachlan continues to play a key role
in the design, development, and promotion of the YAWL BPM solution.
In 2004 Lachlan began working on a PhD regarding more direct support for
issues related to inter-organisational workflow based on his research into
coupling patterns in middleware.
